Day Two of NaNoWriMo
Well, I made it through Day One! I weighed in at the end of the day with a 2678 word count. Not too shabby at all. All around cyber space, the NaNo buzz can be heard. Some are participating and totally stressed about it. Some are not participating and show No Love or understanding for the entire concept. Luckily, some are simply cheering for those who have entered. For me, NaNo is not about crossing the finish line. It's more a case of setting a goal and meeting it. Will I be drawn and quartered if I don't make it? Not likely. Will I win a kazillion dollars? Not even close. What you will win is a sense of accomplishment. Yes, most of us will go back and rewrite half of what we've written, and quite possibly toss the other half…but we are definitely closer to a finished product than we were on November 1st.
So if you know of someone participating, don't be shy about giving them a nudge and telling them you're rooting for them. Even writers need cheerleaders from time to time.
To all my fellow participants, let's kick some NaNo word count butt. Good luck to all!!
